During the lunchbreak we arrange a special low-speed parade lap session where a convoy of cars is led around the track behind the circuit course car, for several laps with the maximum speed limited to 40 mph, enough to enjoy the sensation of driving around the race circuit but without the risk of sliding off.
This has become a popular feature, especially for parents with children, especially because (for obvious insurance reasons) under-17s are not allowed to ride as passengers on the high-speed lapping sessions. It is the rare opportunity to enjoy a ride around a real race circuit, waving to the spectators.
The parade laps are also open to other drivers, provided they accept that this is a low-speed parade lap and not a fast track session.
Sign on in advance at the admin desk in the Strawford Centre on the day (you will be required to sign an indemnity form). A pass to take part in the lunchtime parade session costs just £10.
Please sign on before 12.00 and attend a briefing at this time, before assembling in the queue in the paddock area by 12.40, ready to feed out into the assembly area for the parade laps to commence at 13.00
The official photographer, Jim Gaisford, will be taking pictures of the cars in the parade lap. These will be available for viewing during the afternoon in the room adjacent to the Tavern.
