GT24 at Goodwood

The Scirocco GT24 made its UK debut racing up the hill in front of crowds at the recent Goodwood Festival of Speed (July 12-13).

Built by Volkswagen Motorsport in Hanover, the Scirocco GT24 adopts the same drivetrain, chassis and aerodynamic additions as the race cars which recently did so well in the 24-hour race at the Nurburgring (for full report, see July VW Driver). As well as lowered race suspension and uprated brakes, the GT24 also features a revised version of the road car's 2.0 TSI
engine, developing 325 PS at 6,500 rpm, as well as a 6-speed DSG gearbox with revised ratios and uprated clutch plates.
