New Golf Estate
Volkswagen's new Golf Estate
made its debut at the Geneva
Motor Show on March 6, extending
the versatility of the Golf range
with the largest loadspace yet, as
well as bringing new styling, practical
and dynamic improvements.
The loadspace is accessed through a
wide, contoured boot incorporating a low load lip, with the rear seats
folding flat
into the floor to produce 1,550 litres
of load capacity. Multiple load hooks,
a 12-volt power socket plus stowage beneath the boot floor are useful
additions, along with heating elements
built into the rear side windows.
The new Golf Estate will be powered by a choice of 105 PS 1.9-litre TDI
and 140 PS 2.0-litre TDI engines, or 140 PS 1.4-litre TSI and 102
PS 1.6-litre FSI petrol powerplants.
Standard equipment includes six airbags, alloy wheels, 'Climatic'
semi-auto air-con, ABS, a radio/CD player and a three-year/60,000-mile
warranty.

UK sales of the Golf Estate will commence in August, with prices yet to
be announced, but expected to be much the same as those for the
equivalent Golf hatch.
