New Scirocco

The recent Geneva Show saw the debut of the long-awaited production version
of the new Scirocco. Styled by a team led by Volkswagen's Chief Designer,
Klaus Bischoff, the new Scirocco is a further development of the Iroc
concept car, seen at the Paris Show in 2006.

Proportions for the new Scirocco are classic coupé  short, low and wide;
with a wheelbase measuring 2,578 mm, the Scirocco is 4,256 mm long, 1,404 mm high and 1,810 mm wide.

Driving dynamics will just as important as its stylish and sporting
appearance. All models will feature an advanced adaptive chassis control
system offering three driver-selected settings comfort, normal and sport.

The new model will be launched in the UK with a 200 PS 2.0 T-FSI engine,
driving through the front wheels via a choice of 6-speed manual or 6-speed
DSG gearboxes. A range of TSI and common-rail TDI engines will also be
offered, in combination with either 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG, from the
end of the year.

Full UK specification and pricing will be announced when the order books are
opened in June, prior to first UK deliveries in September. Prices are
expected to start at around £20,000.
