COMPETITION
WIN a VI Monitor multifunction gauge
worth £250!
The VI Monitor is a multifunction gauge which provides real-time engine
and performance monitoring, data-logging and diagnostics via the
on-board diagnostic socket.
We use it for recording the performance figures for the road tests which
appear in Volkswagen Driver and Audi Driver magazines and comparisons
with other equipment have shown it to be extremely accurate.
The unit is fitted to the windscreen using a high-quality suction
mounting and, as soon as the plug on the end of the cable is pushed into
the car's ODB socket, it switches on and is ready for use. It will
measure standing-start acceleration times up to 100 mph and also gives
times for
30-50 mph etc. As well as the data appearing on the screen, you can
download it to a PC, using software which is supplied with the unit.
In addition to engine and performance monitoring, VI Monitor has a shift
light, G-meter, the ability to view and reset engine fault codes and
over 500 hours of data-logging capability.
Compatible with all OBD II compliant vehicles, it offers real- time
monitoring of up to 15 parameters on 3 individual displays, provides rpm
and speed warnings with a shift light, has a self-damping 3-axis
G-sensor, and provides a lap timing capability, dyno testing to
determine engine power output, performance tests for both acceleration
and braking, and descriptive
fault code diagnostics. You can also upload your saved runs/laps to your
computer for analysis using V.I.D. software.
